How do we sort Lightroom folders by date created? This is very frustrating. We only see them in alphabetical order.

You are referring to Lightroom Classic right? If you go to Grid View (G) and hit T for the toolbar, you'd see a sort option. Click on it and select Capture time.

Folders & Collections do not have sort options - only files within them can be sorted by various methods.

Alphabetic sort is the only view available.

Here are some feature requests you can add your voice to:

I stand corrected. The OP did indeed mention folders and not pics.

Seeing that this initial feature request was 7 years ago, it looks like this is not important to Adobe. Ugh!

I add the creation date in the beginning of the folder name. I.e. "2020 04 23 abcdef". Works for me.

The answer is Extremely simple as noted above.
Add the Date you Created the folder and or the Date the images were taken to the front of the Folder name.
I have all my images in Dated folders under Top Level folder for the years they were taken, 2006, 2007, to 2020 and the subfolders dated like this 032119. 03 for the month, 21 for the day and 19 for the year. That is all the USA way of entering the date, Month Day Year (as I was born in September on a Day in 1951, 09/xx/51).
All images in that folder were taken on that day in that month of that year. Actually I leave off the year number because they are already in top level folder by the year.

Then All your folders will be sorted by the Date.

This would work if you originally started your naming conventions that way but to go back and rename over 1000 folders would be a nightmare. What we need is a simple fix by Adobe that lets us sort of folders by date created. Very odd that this was not included with the initial release.

I vote for that requirement,

As i have thousands of folders, and since i didn't use naming convention that includes dates, the only option for sorting the folders list is alphabetical. For non professional photographers the timeline sorting is important while the alphabetic order doesn't give any value.

For many years i didn't move to Lightroom only because the lack of this feature. Lightroom classic is a great tool and im happy with its functionality . however, as i was concerned, i lost the ability to find a specific folder if i cant remember its name. The ability to easily find a folder should be, to my point of view, one of the basic requirements in the user experience.

This looks like an easy to implement feature and even quick win.

Thanks
