Bring Smart Object / Smart Filter technology to Lightroom. You already have a great Non destructive editing architecture that i see many plugin vendors also use.

Bringing this technology will remove what i believe is the last barrier to me to use lightroom for all my editing needs.

Lightroom is for non destructive editing but filters are not in the loop currently. Give us Smart Filters in lightroom - Where we can add filters from your vendors into it exactly like Photoshop.

So, I assume you mean image manipulating "filters", so plugins can "edit" the image, non-destructively? e.g. so Topaz Labs could make a "Topaz Adjust" "filter" for Lightroom, which does not require a roundtrip to Photoshop and a big tif back in Lightroom...?

Exactly. Many filters when you apply on the smart objects in Photoshop, you can go back and actually change the parameters of the filter as well.
This gives the most creative freedom.
I have seen such filters from Nik, and On One right now. Dont know if Topaz filters work on smart objects.
