Smart Text Blobs

Need the ability to abstract text blobs from the layout for prototyping responsive designs...

Example if I had a chunk of text that said "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec eleifend eleifend lacus, in blandit dolor pellentesque at." and I can put that text blob into different text boxes that would demonstrate the text as the text box changes width.

Howdy Steve,

If I'm understanding you correctly, we've already had this feature in the product for some time.  Create a text box and click Type > Paste Lorem Ipsum.

If I've misunderstood, please let me know.

Thanks,
David

Hi Dave,

I need the text to be abstracted from layout...  Lets say we have "text blob A"  that is 1 paragraph of text...   and the team wants to see how that paragraph changes in width across mobile, table, and desktop.   So currently I would create 3 of the same text boxes in the different layouts because it will require different heights, widths and justification (left or centered)...  So lets say the team need to revise the text...  I know have to change the text in each layout...   Where as if the text blob was abstracted from the layout I could change it in one place and see how it updates across all the different layouts...

Make sense? =D

Or am unaware of a new feature? With the new subscription model it is some times hard to keep track of new features because there are no more formal releases announcements.  =D

Howdy Steve,

Okay, now I understand.  Short of creating some scripts to automate this process, there's no way I can think of within the application to do what you're asking for.  But, you could certainly create an Action or a Script that does that.

Hi David...
Yup I is more a suggestion as future feature for the product team... Not sure a script is ideal as it would be great for junior designers to be able to leverage this feature....  If it could be built in as feature across all 3 products that would be most optimal as it would open up a new world of opportunity for innovation...

But I am not going to go into those ideas into detail here ;O)
