the crosshairs on the small brush sizes block your view of your work while painting
why not give users the option of removing them in preferences?

What cursor settings are you currently using?

Some screen shots of what you're seeing while painting, and what you'd like to see may also help.

I'd like to request that Adobe give users the option of removing the crosshairs entirely from ALL brush sizes, not just the large ones,  but I don't know how to go about doing that. I phoned tech support and the fool that took my call wanted to remote into my computer...for what purpose I don't know. If you are familiar with Photoshop you know that there is no way to remove the crosshairs from small brush sizes, so I don't know what he was hoping to accomplish. I ended the call in frustration.

I also wish to have option to turn off cross-hair at small brush size.
