Photoshop: Slow regular panning but super smooth space + click and drag panning

So I just signed up for CS6, and I'm noticing some performance drawbacks in Photoshop compared to CS4 that I was using previously. I'm running a 2011 macbook pro with 16 gigs of ram, using an SSD for scratch.
I've noticed significant panning lag (as well as moving layers) when addressing a large 750 meg file. I've allotted 12 gigs of to PS. And the issue persists regardless of GPU high/low/medium or off. I'm running Snow Leopard with all the updates installed.
INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH! Although regular panning is slow and chuggy, holding down space and clicking/dragging is smooth as butter.
So I'm thinking this is a bug in Photoshop, anyone have any ideas as to how to fix it? Thank you!

Make sure Photoshop is Up-To-Date: http://adobe.ly/PS-Up-To-Date

Sounds like you need some performance fixes that are in 13.0.1

I found similar issue with panning. When I use wacom pen to panning (space + pen drag) it is smooth as never but then when I start using mouse I have this lag (sec of waiting before it react)
