Lightroom 5.2 Slideshow problems

I recently upgraded LR4 to LR 5.2 and i am having major problems with Slideshow when using either cable or wifi tether with Canon 5d3 and shooting JPG.

When i set up Slideshow settings to Random Order, Repeat, Use: All Filmstrip Photo's and take the first shot, all is fine. Then i click Play and the existing image plays in the Slideshow, but additional photos don't.

When i press ESC, i see all of the other images i have taken appear in the Filmstrip that did not appear in the Slideshow and then after a few seconds they all change from colour to my preset (B&W). Then when i press Play, the entire filmstrip shows but no new additional images taken after.

In Preview mode, i did the same thing and again, only existing pre-shot images appeared in the Slideshow. However, I saw all of the new images appear as they were shot on the Filmstrip (but were slower to load) but as greyed out boxes (no image).

As the Slideshow went thru the Filmstrip, it moved over all the new images taken in the sequence, but only displayed existing pre-shot images. When i clicked Play, the new images appeared from the greyed-out box, changed to my B&W preset then appeared in the Slideshow...but no new images taken after that appeared.

When i shot in Develop mode, each new image taken was displayed as i checked Advance Auto Selection. However, in Slideshow, it only displays pre-shot images and only adds new images to the Filmstrip once the Slideshow has been stopped.

As explained above, LR5.2 is acknowledging that something is coming into the Filmstrip but it is not processing the new images until the Slideshow is stopped.

On my 2nd Mac i removed LR5.2 and re-installed LR4 and the Slideshow worked perfectly well for both cable & wifi tether.

Anyone else experience similar Slideshow issue in LR5.2?

thanks,

Hi - I guess misery loves company on this one. I have exactly the same problem with LR5.2. It would appear that the Slideshow will not dynamically update with new photos populated into the filmstrip. I'm assuming that this is a LR bug but haven't seen anything from Adobe yet on this problem.

I can't find acknowledgment by Adobe that they have a problem on this issue. Keep thinking that there is some setting we've overlooked. In the meantime, I'm also trying to figure out how to roll back to LR4.

Not sure how many people use it as can't find forums etc with this problem.

i tired everything on settings with LR 5 but it would not work.

I easily re-installed LR4 and worked perfectly well with both tether and wifi...

Interesting - I might try that. I have just installed the beta version of the next release 5.3 but haven't had time to test it... If that doesn't work I'll have to face rolling back to LR4. Stay in touch if you find a solution here.

Thanks

Ken

Slideshow unusable in Lr5. I mean, exported slideshows are fine, but in-LR - it's a non-starter.. - either won't run at all (if too many photos selected), or runs but image quality sucks (dull, wrong colors). I just use ShowBiz for in-LR slideshows instead. - fingers crossed for Lr6.

My problem is that: When I pres the play button in LR 5.3 I get a black screen. and nothing happens. I have to press esc several times to get b ack to LT . So I can't play a slideshow.
And It a big problem to reach a helpdesk of Adobe. Nobody home Adobe ??

LR5.5 is still not adding the new photos to the slideshow. Also, what they consider random is only random on the first pass through the slideshow, after that the order that was originally randomly picked is just repeated over and over.

Having the same problem here - slideshow won't automatically update. Using Mac OS X here. I wonder if Adobe will ever fix it.
