I can't get the Slideshow module in LR5 to display images in Widescreen mode. No matter which preset I choose, the images are displayed in about 1/4 of the screen. LR4 works fine on the same set of images with the same widescreen preset.

The two screenshots above were taken on the same MB pro laptop (retina display) using the same images with the same template for the Slideshow module.

It seems like a Hi DPI issue.
In LR 4.0, in edit mode and playing mode, they both do not supoort Hi DPI, the photo size will x 2, this makes the photo fuzzy.
In LR 5.0, we support Hi DPI in edit mode, with retina display, the photo will be shown in actual size (smaller than it displays in normal display). So compare with LR 4.0, it is smaller. But in play mode, we did not support Hi DPI yet. So the photo size you see in playing maybe different than it in edit mode. We will support it later.
In LR 4.4, we also add Hi DPI support in edit mode. So, if you compare LR 4.4 with LR 5.0, they should be the same.
Hope this answer is help for you. Thanks.

The screen captures that i posted above are from LR 4.4 and LR 5 so, your answer doesn't fit. If I can't display images in widescreen in LR5 then it is unusable.

Sorry, I just check with our developer, he told me that the Hi DPI is not implement with slideshow in LR 4.4. For LR 5, as I said, we only support it in edit mode. Sp if you play the slideshow in fullscreen, it should be in widescreen, is

This is an unacceptable situation with LR5. Fullscreen mode is no different! The preview panel with the widescreen option shows the image expanding to fit the monitor but, the actual display does not expand. One of the main uses I have for LR5 is to display slideshows. I cannot use it in the current implementation.

I have this same problem with an external display, using the two displays mode (with a projector). Only way to make it work was to use mirroring and turn the resolution down to 720p. Complete nightmare, LR4 never did this.
