I recently upgraded to Elements 9.0 and when I backup/sync my libraries online, the slideshow doesn't work. Click on it and I get a few flshing squares then a black screen. Slideshow doesn't even load when I try to set the preferences in the Photoshop express window. I have accessed other user albums and slideshow works.

Another issue that may be unrelated is I can't upload anything to the web thru the photoshop express upload feature. Gets to 96% and stops. Only way I can upload is backup/sync.

All the software is updated to the most recent versions.

Haven't found anything on the web addressing this issue. Any Ideas?

Hi Tom,

If the images in that album are large, or there are a lot of images in that album, it will take some time for the first image to load in the slideshow player. We pre-cache subsequent images so that you can skip ahead a couple of images once the slideshow starts, but that also means that loading the first image takes a little longer than others; try waiting things out for a few seconds to see if the first image appears.

If that still doesn't work, try changing the slideshow theme from the Photoshop Express Organizer (select the album in the left pane of the online Organizer and click the slideshow button; choose a different theme in the picker; try 'Singular', to see if a different theme works better).

You should NOT use the Express Uploader if you also have Photoshop Elements; that will create duplicate copies of your files, since the uploader is not as sophisticated as the Elements organizer, and cannot resist creating copies of syncd files; Elements does not do this.

The reason things stop at 96% is because the file is successfully uploaded, however it takes some time during the last few seconds to generate a thumbnail for your images so that they appear online ok; that's especially true if the images are large, or in a RAW format. Once the uploader gets a 'thumbs up' from the back end, telling it that the thumbnails have been created, then you're good to go; please wait this process out, and don't abandon the upload.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
