I have downloaded Lightroom 6.3 about 5 days ago. After that I can't use the slideshow. What I understand it's something wrong with the program and I just wonder, when will Adobe fix the problem?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled After 6.3 update slideshow modul "play" occurs crash.

After Update to 6.3 i have problems with slideshow modul, starting the play function Lightroom crshes and I have to restart. Same with editing videos in library modul. Going back to original 6.0 version problem no longer occurs.
Thanks for your help and reply -guenter.musch@gmail.com-

I see that you tried to replace the video_toolkit.dll, it must be Windows. I would first making sure that your GPU display driver is up-to-date (see https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html).

If that still does not work. I would recommend to do a complete uninstall of Lr 6.3/Lr CC 2015.3 on your Windows machine (using the Windows Control Panel). After the uninstall, trash the entire folder "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\" using the Windows explorer.

Then go to https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-downloads.html:
1) Download and install the "Application Installers" for Lightroom 6.0 (Lightroom CC 2015);
2) Then download and install the patcher installer for the desired Lightroom dot release (Lightroom 6.3/CC 2015.3) that you want on top of the baseline Lightroom 6.0 (Lightroom CC 2015) from the step #1.

Hi Simon, many thanks for your help I followed your instructions step by step, "Use Graphics Processor" disabled. I'm sorry but it did not help, problem remains.
Finally I uninstalled again and installed LR 6.1.1, this version works perfect witout any problem.
I remeber in LR version 5 a similar problem occured and only changing to LR 6 it was fixed.
In my opinion Adobe should refuse 6.3 and start again with 6.1.1 adapting all new innovations.

Hi Simon,
I tried LR 6 update 6.4 wih no big change. The only difference to verions 6.2 - 6.3 is that meanwhile after starting Slideshow function LR don't crash and showing at least the frame but no picture inside the frame. In sumarry a little change but main problem remains, Will go back again to 6.1.1 working perfectly
