How can I set the order for the photograph's to appear? It seems Elements 14 uses the date the photo was taken, showing the last one first.

Start by selecting your thumbnails and then create an album. You will see an additional sort option of “Album Order” as well as date (Oldest/Newest)

In album order you can drag the thumbnails around and they will remain in fixed positions.

Then use the album as your source for the slideshow.

I tried this a number of times. First: I do not get an option to sort the items; second when I close the side window, the album resorts to the date order instead of the order I have placed them into.
Thank you for your help.

Are you sure you changed the sort to "Album Order"

HI: 'album order' does not appear in my sort options. I have the top three in this illustration. I am working on a MAC laptop if this makes a difference.

Have you created an album in the Organizer or are you viewing a folder?

HELLO: I have used your suggestion using an 'album'. I follow your directions to designate the thumbnails first, then create the album, then click the 'OK'. When the album shows up, I go to the sort and select 'album order' but it still reverts to the date order.  I cannot determine what I am doing wrong.

When you drag and drop the thumnails into order you should see a number in the top left of each one e.g. 1,2, 3, 4 etc. The images should remain in their fixed positions.

BOY, this is getting painful. Again following your directions: I designate the thumbnails; then I create the album; at this point the thumb nails show up in the vertical right hand side bar; when I name the album and click "OK' the photos revert to date taken. If I try to sort that album into 'album order', nothing happens.
I appreciate all of your efforts, but apparently I am doing something wrong. I think you for all of your efforts to help me.

Nothing will happen after you select Album Order unless you move the thumbnails around. Try clicking in the center of the third thumbnail and dragging it left to the second position. When you see the black marker release your mouse.
