Hi there, I'm trying to do a sketch action treatment on a photo. I've done this before a few weeks ago successfully, but suddenly its not working anymore and I'm not doing anything differently.
I'm following these instructions:
1. Open your image;
2. Open "Pencil Sketch Brushes" file;
3. Open "Pencil Sketch Patterns" file;
4. Open the action (for that go to: Window / Actions, click on menu icon at the right and choose in list "Load Actions..." then find the action on your computer and open it;
5. Create a new layer and name it "area" (do not use CapsLock);
6. Paint on this layer the area that you need to focus (you can use any colors);
7. Find action on the action list then open it and click play;
8. Wait a few minutes that Photoshop make all actions (speed of action work depends of the power of your computer); .

But when I click play on the actions, it comes up with error messages for each action saying its not able to complete the commands. Where am I going wrong? All help gratefully received as I need to do this for work asap!

Have you tried this again on images where you've already had success with this action on Laura?
Seems step 5 is quite necessary in terms of the layer name, sounds like this "area" layer name needs to be selected/targeted when the action starts as well.

You could also try to restore Photoshop's preferences to see if something got corrupted in the preference file, https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/basic-trouble-shooting-steps.html#prefs

Let us know how it goes.
