LIGHTROOM: simple suggestions

1-When opening Lightroom, why do I have to click on a catalog and then hit open? Why not have it open by double clicking on a catalog?
2-When setting up Lightroom on 2 computers, is there a simple way to copy the settings from one computer to the next?
3-for those of us who have a little problem controlling the mouse, could you make it so that we could highlight an adjustment (like exposure) and then make fine tuning adjustments with the + and - key?

1.It does open by double clicking on both my PC and my Mac.

3. Try Up and Down Arrow for Adjusting Shift+Up and Down Arrow for larger adjustments. You can also enter numerical values into the number field on the slider for ultimate precision.

1-I'm sorry, I probably wasn't clear. Yes, LR will open if I double click on the atalog name, but if I start LR and it then asks which catalog I want to open (I have my preferences set to not go to the last open catalog), I have to click on the catalog and hit open...it will not open with a double click.
2-someone had told me not to transfer settings, but I didn't like that answer....it would be so much easier to keep both computers working the same
3-Thanks for the hint of the up-down arrows.
