Lightroom: Show only specific presets in pop-ups such as in Quick Develop

Related to another feature request

The lists of presets in the Quick Develop panel, Import dialog, etc. quickly become unwieldy when there are more than a few presets, especially as the number of default presets has grown considerably. As there are no folders, it can take a lot of scrolling to find the preset you require. Many of those presets you'd only ever apply from the Develop module. To solve this, I suggest 2 things:

1. Add a scroll bar to quickly scroll to the right position in the list rather than rolling to the top or bottom and waiting for it to take its time.

2. Add checkboxes against the presets in the Develop module panel, which would allow you to select which presets show in those pop-up lists.

Your point 1 is covered by this thread (which received lots of debate, but not much support):

I could also support point 2, but worry about the potential confusion when only some presets appear in the dropdown list. Experienced users will have no problem with this, but newbies might. Although they are probably not very likely to tick the boxes anyway...

I voted for the other one, but I'm not so sure about the check-box idea - I'd rather be able to arrange and see/use them from folders in all contexts instead. Even so, quick-scroll would be better than slow scroll, but I'd generally break them up into more folders if much scrolling was required. If one could store an alias in a folder user could create his/her own favorites folder(s). Maybe Lr could keep track of a recently used folder for us...
