Show foreground and background colors on the Options Bar

For most users it is surely essential to always know what the current foreground/background colors are? Yet the only way to see these colors is to have either the Color panel or the Tools panel always open. Both of these panels take up unnecessary space and clutter the workspace. Tools panel is completely redundant for anyone who uses keyboard shortcuts, and I wouldn't even think of having it on my screen.

It would be so much neater if the two colors could simply be shown always at the side of the Options Bar, or somewhere else, so that everyone always can see what the current foreground and background colors are.

Pressing 'f' only hides your panels. That doesn't help.

Yes but Adobe can't seriously expect users to have the tool bar on screen just in order to see the colors? The toolbar is a huge waste of space, has no real point, and it looks a mess. It may be handy for beginners but it serves no purpose for a serious user who uses keyboard shortcuts. I haven't had the toolbar turned on since about 1997.
