Brush Presets are so far one of the best features there is for us painters. We would be very happy if Photoshop allows us to assign shortcut keys to call on brush presets /ideally can set them via the Preset window. This way, it would let us quickly change brushes without having to pick them from the window.

Yes, but to be able to specify keys for one out of your hundred brush preset it would be damn useful for speedpainting and concept arts.

If by »the window« you mean the Brush Preset Panel it might be slightly more efficient to ctrl-click (Edit: on the file’s canvas) to raise the ... is it called »contextual menu«?
Of course with hundreds of brushes that may not be a lot of use.

Here's a simulation of what I want to happen:
1. Open Photoshop, set artistic smudge with settings and assign it to , mixbrush tool with specific settings and assign it to , mixbrush tool B with specific settings and assign it to , normal brush + airbrush settings to
2. As I paint I won't need to press on the window but seamlessly switch from one type of brush (smudge -> mixbrush -> mixbrush B -> brush ) and it will really help save a LOT of time.

Ah, then you don't want brush presets - you want tool presets.
