In Lightroom Classic shift double clicking the whites slider sets the whites automatically.
But is there also a keyboard shortcut for this (and auto blacks, etc.)?

I was wondering if I could have this auto behavior added to my midi controller that I use with LR (using midi2LR), but haven't been able yet.
So knowing the shortcut would be helpful.

Shift double clicking works on Mac for blacks as well (for lights and shadows I am not sure).

Thanks, but I'm looking for a keyboardshortcut for (double) clicking the sliders for Whites and Blacks so I can program the shortcut into my MIDI controller.

Somewhere along the way (LR 5, 6) the actual behavior of Shift Click on Whites and Blacks changed. It used to set the same values as 'Auto' Tone, but no longer. With images that have a lot of highlight clipping Whites will get set to -100 using Shift Click. Blacks setting will be different as well. These settings are also different than holding the Alt key and "manually" adjusting Whites and Blacks just to the clipping threshold. This appears to be the most accurate setting for most images, but Auto Tone by itself is much better than it used to be.

If you really need the ability to set just the Whites and Blacks controls I suggest applying Auto Tone and then a preset that returns all of the other Basic panel controls back to 0. This will provide much more accurate clipping point settings than Shift-Click.
