Elements: Organizer Share to Flickr Firewall Issue

I have used the Share to Flickr option successfully in Elements Organizer 11 before but now when I try to upload an album, I get the error message "There was a problem with your internet connection. Please check that a firewall is not blocking Elements Organizer from accessing the internet and that you have an internet connection."

All permissions in my firewall are correct and I've even tried turning it off with not luck. I've seen this problem in other threads but none of the solutions seems to have worked. I could try to use the Flickr uploader but since I'm trying to upload an album I don't want to have to go through and pick the photos out of the whole file folder. Any suggestions?

I spent an hour and a half with a chat room person today and we tried many fixes (most of which I had tried before) and still could not get the upload function to work. He promised to have the escalation team call me, but nothing has happened. I am so disappointed and frustrated.

Not sure why Adobe can't or won't address this issue since it seems to be affecting quite a number of people. I've spent the better part of the evening trying to find a solution including waiting for the last hour to start a chat. If you hear anything back, please post here and I will do the same.

I've heard nothing back...have you chatted with Elements? They neither sent me a case number (as promised) nor as escalation contacted me...

Nothing yet. After waiting for an hour the chat person told me he couldn't help me and I had to speak with a product specialist weekdays between the hours of 8 am and 7 pm. Haven't had a chance to try again.

Mine is working now, although sometimes it says there is a problem with the internet connection, but it works on a second try...

Sometimes it takes me 4 times....but at least it eventually gets through. I agree--but I do like both Adobe elements and Flickr so I'm living with it.

Rebeca, here's how I got around it...

I read about and downloaded Shutterfly's photoshop templates to create an 8.5 x 11 album. I then used Photoshop Elements to open up the templates and designed my pages. Once saved, I turned those pages into jpgs which were EASY to upload to Shutterfly's site!

Also, Shutterfly's e-mail support was very good in answering me whenever I had questions.

I gotta say I am pretty happy right now of how may book is working out! It's a huge family album and I plan on ordering one book soon to see how my pages look before I start anymore books - just to be sure!

FYI - Shutterfly also has plenty of deals and discounts everyday, too!

Hope this helps!

I am having the same issue and totally frustrated. Another site I saw today says Flickr changed their API to increase security from 3rd party programs so that they have to use an https to access. I am not all that familiar with coding but the Flickr site says Adobe is on the hook to re-do their programming and issue an update to make it work again. I have version 11 of Elements and, somehow, I don't think Adobe is going to make the change in favor of pushing their customers to use their own Reveal photo sharing site instead of Flickr (which is way more popular). Problem is, nobody can view my photos on the Reveal site without setting up an account. Plus, most people know about and use Flickr.
I just love the way these software companies screw the customer.

The transfer worked for a number of months--then failed! Now I have to authorize each upload and the transfer works 1 in 10 times. Terrible! The way around is to save photos to the desktop (rather than the hard disk dated file) and upload them manually. Elements then pulls in the desktop photos to its own file, so the workaround is one more step, but is foolproof...so far, at least!

Hi,
Does Adobe ever respond to these comments?
I chose Elements partly because of the so-called integration with Flickr, but I cannot get it to work at all!
On version 13 now and still being sold as having the functionality.
Is there an email address I can formally complain to?

I ́m a relatively new Adobe customer. Revel is nice, but others seem to be better (and much cheaper) for me, according to the diskspace I need.
I already had to update from elements 12 to elements 13 and pay for it to get Support for my 4k (UHD)-Monitor, now I ́m using elements 13 and I cant ́upload to flickr since that update.
Already tried to delete IE Cookies, but no solution.
Very disappointing. I didn ́t expect something like that from a company like Adobe. Hope to get an update or fix very soon.

I just upgraded to Adobe Elements 14. I no longer can share or email any photos. I get the firewall/internet connection loss message. I turned of my firewall, still didn't work. Yes I have internet running. This is BS!

Same with me I was uploading slideshows to face book for a whole week. Then the internet connection w/ element organizer problem started. I just got photo element 14 with my new note book. Looks like there's problems and no solutions. Tomorrow i'll try to contact Adobe, we see how it goes.

Nothing works to adjust it so that it works. I was on line for over a hour with a technician from Adobe, he couldn't fix it either and finally just left, without saying anything.

I've been using the Apple Photos app instead on my Mac, after giving up on Elements Organiser. The Flickr uploader app picks up the photos perfectly from there.

Adobe Tech could not fix problem with element organizer. I contacted Dell Tech they had to uninstall photo element 14, do a system restoration and re-installed photo element 14. I don't know how long this fix will last but I can upload to face book.

Hi Lynn,

Could you please answer following question or try following suggestions.
1. Are you using a internet(wifi) which is behind firewall? If yes, could you please use a LAN connection to share to Flickr.
2. Does other share services(Facebook, Twitter etc.) work correctly(end to end) on the same machine in PSE14?
3. Is any network monitoring tool(Fiddler, Charles, etc.) running on same machine? if yes, could you please stop/uninstall it and try sharing to Flickr.
4. If above suggestions don't work correctly then please delete 'Online Services' folder/directory from below location and then try sharing to Flickr
WIN: C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\
MAC: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/

Please let me know if any of the above suggestions solve your issue.

I have the same problem uploading to Facebook. I have gotten no response to my inquiries. This did not start happening to me until I downloaded Windows 10. I'm thinking it is a windows issue?

My note book came w/ windows 10 and photo element 14, I was able to upload for a week, then the organizer problem started. Yesterday the same problem came back, I notified Dell tech. So I tried a second attempt to upload slide show to face book and it worked, for how long I don't know.
