Photoshop: Share Specs for Assets

When designing for developers (apps & websites), in addition to needing each individual asset, they also need information about where that asset is located on the page (pixels from the Left, Top, Right, and Bottom).

It would save an incredible amount of time if there were a way to export/generate the specs of each asset in relation to the Artboard/group (depending on where that asset is located).

Right now the only way I've found to solve that is by selecting the layer, holding down 'Command', hovering over the Artboard/group, and then writing it into a spreadsheet. Generally takes me 1-2 full days per app to gather all that information.

I am on my phone so can't get specific links, but adobe's built in Generator has an api to get all of the information you need in JSON for the whole document. See if there is a plug-in that can output that for you? I know it is possible cause I wrote a quick-n-dirty CEP panel that does just that.

Thanks Max! That's great to know so I'll take a look around. At the moment I'm considering buying Markly, it seems fairly straight forward and simple to use?

Here's a good example of a generator plugin that gets some text layer info and prints it into a json file... just what you need, but you would have to tweak the output to do either everything or just the parts you needed.
