I'm finding my text resolution too small for print when I have added text to a high resolution photo. How do I increase the resolution on the text layer? I use Photoshop Elements

Howdy Dawn,

Resolution applies to the entire image.  You wouldn't increase it only for a type layer, but for all layers.

If you just want to make your text larger, however, then just change the setting of the Font Size, highlighted in blue in this screenshot.

Hope that helps,
David

Thank you, David.  The representative at the photo lab indicated that the resolution on the type layer was too low before the image was flattened.  For printing, the image looks great but the edges of the type are pixelated.  My preferences are set to 300 pixels per inch, and I'm trying to print a 24x36.  Image resolution is an area in which I have so much to learn.  Thank you for your help and patience.
