Lightroom Classic: Ability select flags while in crop mode

I often crop all my photos first thing by staying in crop mode for each newly imported group, however, when I see a photo that I know just needs to be deleted I want to select the reject flag now. It would be helpful to be able to just press a key (like x) to do that, but instead I must bring up the menu and select it there, which takes more time and effort. If I wait to reject (or pick) and do it while looking for the best of the cropped images, I am forced to look at the same photo I wanted to reject for a 2nd time, effectively wasting my time. Any way to make that faster?

The problem is that KBSC 'x' is associated with rotating the crop while in the crop tool.

Instead of using the menu, you can show the Flag tool on the develop tool bar (press 'T' to show/hide the toolbar) via the fly-out menu on the right. This way you can click the pick/reject icon on the toolbar to flag the photo. It is not a perfect solution, not sure it will work better for you.

Yes, I do have the Toolbar showing and I use this method sometimes when not in crop mode. Rikk's solution was to use the Mac - Command + Up Arrow / Command + Down Arrow which does make it easier. Thanks for trying to help!

You can also use

Win - Ctrl + Up Arrow / Ctrl + Down Arrow

Mac - Command + Up Arrow / Command + Down Arrow

To increase or decrease the status of a Flag while in the Crop tool.

This solution was right there in the Menu, but with so many feature on Lightroom it is easy to miss things. Thank you for a perfect solution. Another question for you on this subject: I noticed a shortcut feature in the Photo>Set Flag>Toggle Flag menu which uses the '  key. I have tried this on my mac keyboard and it does not do anything in Library, Develop or Develop Crop mode. Any idea why this key is not activated? The Toggle Flag option only works when selecting this in the menu.
