Is it possible to add in Action bar "search" option ?
When I have installed a lot of actions sometimes it's very difficult to find the in whole list the one I'm actually looking for in this moment.
Would be easier to have possibility to search (for example by name of the action) than scroll all of them.
I think it could be usefull :)
Thank you in advance!

Would you expect it to search the steps, set names, or just the action names?

I have installed a lot of sets with few actions in each set. It would be great to search set name but also simple action from set

Next question: should it be a type-ahead search (which takes you to the first one matching what you type), or a filter search (which hides all that don't match your string)?

Sometimes you don't remember exact name, just one word from the name, so I think it could be perfect if this search shows all matching titles, hiding these not matching at the same time

Hi there,

I just released my panel ActionBrowser CC. With this panel you can search for actions, add favorites and sort them alphabetically. You can even search and run an action without using your mouse. I think it's a big workflow improvement.

You can get it here: http://pixelsucht.net/actionbrowser-cc-photoshop-panel/en/start/
There is also a free trial version available.

that just shows what adobe thinks about it's customers.
Instead of making the feature available, we're stuck buying an additional applet from some 3rd party guy? wow.

Adobe has always been a major job-creator. <BG>  To feel better, just think about all those employed at companies, or self-employed, that make the  3rd party filters and extensions we have grown to love and become dependent upon. No one wants to lose Nik filters, for instance.

Part of buying an Adobe product is buying access to all the plug-ins and extensions. I can't use TK Actions outside of PS, so I'm dependent upon PS in order to use it. I can't use Astute Graphics outside of Illustrator, so again, I'm dependent upon AI for its features. It's really always been this way —and we'd lose a tremendous amount if Adobe either shut them out, or put them out of business by incorporating their innovation after they've done the innovating. Then imagine what it would cost us to own even a single Adobe app if they had to be so innovative and productive annually that we never had to purchase a 3rd party product?  And the number of employees they would have to have would exceed the number of Federal employees in the US.

So going to 3rd party solutions isn't really all that bad, or sad. Not that I'm saying Adobe should stagnate, but we have to accept that it isn't all simply that Adobe doesn't think/care about their customers and what they need. We're all individuals here, and what I need, you quite likely don't. So we can vote on Ideas here, and some may make the grade. They most definitely won't all, but that gives someone else a chance to make some money by being very clever.

Maybe Adobe just could add actions into search console? (CTRL + F)

If they could do that without taking away a lot of resources from updating important basic features (I actually include updating the whole of the Actions panel in with "important basic features), I'd be happy that they did that.  We have large portions of PS that date back to the last century. In computer years, that's a long time.

Search Console is based on Javascript and HTML. Same technology as Plugin mentioned here. It shouldn't require extraordinary human resources.

Anyway I agree. Adobe shouldn't do "Homer car" from Photoshop :-)

ROFL. Yes, if they did everything we asked for, we'd get a Homer car or some other super expensive beast so weighed down by "the bloats," it'd never run on anything less than a supercomputer. <G>
