Lightroom Classic: Search by face without cataloguing others

The faces feature is somewhat helpful, but gets bogged down and unwieldy for sets of images with lots of people in them.

It would be great to be able to select an image, and then say "Find other photos of this person in X, Y & Z folders" and/or "Find other photos of this person in my entire archive."

My archive has over a million images in it, and 350,000 of them are wedding photos with thousands of faces of folks whose names I don't know. I most definitely do not need to have Lightroom try to keep track of all of them.

However, sometimes I'm asked to find photos of a particular individual, and being able to search by face without LR recording every single other face would be great.

Obviously, for large image sets, this would take time. But still, it would be very helpful, and to then be able to tag that one individual once the photos of them are found would be great too.

You can find similar faces of the same person within the scope of the filmstrip photos without first tagging them in Lightroom. In the Faces or the Loupe view (Draw Face Region enabled), right click (or Ctrl click on Mac) on a face, there is a menu command "Find Similar Faces..." that you can use. It still requires indexing and finding the face first.
