Hello

I would like to know if there is a plug-in for lightroom that would allow to go down inside the directory tree. For the moment, I do it with the mouse but I would really like to do it with a key on the keyboard because I have a very, very long tree structure.

I have tried to represent what I would like to do systematically with the keyboard in the image below.

Also, I've heard about plug ins that allow you to modify Lightroom shortcuts. What would be the recommended plug ins currently?

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

If know the name of the folder then you can use search to locate the folder quickly than scrolling through. As Victoria has mentioned there is no keyboard support for scrolling.

Sreenivas,

Thanks! I appreciate your reply. :-)

Lightroom is a great program and it allows you to work in many different ways which is great.

I'm not looking for a particular directory, on the contrary. I think many of us need, at some point, to review the different directories on a hard disk, one after the other, such as the pages of a book, and analyze the images on them to perform operations, classify images by level, index keywords, for example.

I find it tedious to have to go down with the mouse for such a systematic, simple and obvious operation. Programs used by everyone such as windows explorer or adobe bridge allow this... But not Lightroom.

I find it unfortunate that it is absolutely impossible to allocate certain keys to the simple act of moving up or down in the directory tree.

Would it be possible for this request to join the Adobe development team?

You you hold the ALT for pc or OPTION for Mac key and click the little triangle left of a higher level folder it will open/close all the folders under that higher level folder.

The Any Source plugin has commands for going to the next and previous folder and collection displayed in the Folders and Collections panels. The plugin's help explains how to assign keyboard shortcuts to these commands.
