Installed latest update. Pictures will not scroll down on wheel of mouse when only one picture is in view. When 2 or more pictures in view can scroll up and down with wheel on mouse.

To better describe the problem,
- After upgrading from Elements 13 to Elements 13.1
- In the Organizer with a single picture zoomed out
- you can use the scroll wheel to move the previous picture (scroll up)
- you can't move to the following one (scroll down)
- you still can use the down or page down keyboard keys.

That's new and easily reproducible.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Mouse wheel problem in photoshop elements 13.1.

The problem occurs in the elements organizer after updating to 13.1.
When you are zoomed in to one photo, you cannot go to the next one using the mousewheel, nothing happens. scrolling up to the previous one is oke.

When zoomed out, scrolling up en down works oke.

Is this problem confined to just a few customers or is it across the board?

I am dumfouded that Adobe has such a cavalier attitude about a bug fix causing a new and significant bug to appear.

I had to do an uninstall and reinstall to get back to a working product.

As previous user of PS 4, PS 9, PS 11 and now PS 13, I am very disappointed in Adobe.

Has this been addressed yet? I have exact issue on 2 PCs. I just recently installed on a new PC & also have on my old PC which I'm in the process of moving everything to the new PC. Both are Windows 8.1 with the Elements 13 upgrade. I find it maddening that I can't use mouse for scrolling down in the organizer. This is a huge bug IMO & needs addressed as such. Using arrow keys, selecting the scrollbar in the organizer, etc. are all unacceptable work-arounds. I am very disappointed in Adobe as well.

No, reinstalling does not change your catalogs.
If you want more safety, just make a copy of your catalog(s) folders.
You find them via the menu Help/System Info.

Thanks, I did play it safe and copied the catalog but and the reinstall I am back where I was before the update.

Appreciate you help. Iwish Adobe was as helpful.

I have the same problem can not scroll in both directions. Called up Adobe about PSE 13 got no where. They tell me there is no telephone support. Left them my phone number waiting for a call back. The support really is awful. Thinking about going back to PSE10. Would like a refund on software(haha fat chance.)

I don't know if it's related to this issue, but I'm seeing another navigation problem in the 13.1 Organizer.

If I'm going through pictures in the single image mode using the arrow keys (which I have to do given that the scroll wheel isn't too happy right now) I find that I'm "losing" keystrokes if I perform an action such as tagging a picture or adding a note.

After, say, tagging an image, the next left or right arrow key press seems to be ignored so I have to press the key twice. It may sound minor but the effect is to make moving through the pictures a somewhat awkward and uncomfortable process.

I have met a similar problem once with the right and left arrow keys not working, but I can't remember the exact conditions; I was working in an album.

I have the same problem. After naming a marked face the next down arrow is lost, but up arrow works. By clicking the mouse outside of the marked area, then down arrow works first time.

Workaround when using only the mouse:
You can click on the left or right arrow signs in the middle of the third line on the top of the screen, around the image count.
I never noticed that before...

Another discovery:
If you do Alt scroll down once, you switch to two pictures side by side. Then you can scroll down normally.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Sroll Function Not Working as it Should when Photos are zoomed out to reveal only....

My Photoshop Elements was just upgrade to version 13.1 (20150130.m.66724) and when viewing photos the scrolling of photos does not work properly when photos are zoomed in only showing one photo. You can only scroll in one direction, up (newest to oldest photo). When you change the zoom to reveal more than one photo the scroll function works as it should both down and up. If you zoom back out to reveal only one photo you again can only scroll in one direction. This occurred after the update identified above.

Is this linked to the similar problem where PSE organiser temporarily loses some of functions where keyboard short-cuts should work? (A fault that has been there for may iterations in the Windows product).

Basically PSE organiser won't accept star ratings, enter full screen mode (F11) etc from the keyboard BUT, it will edit captions and the like. Going into full screen mode using the menu command and coming out again re-establishes the keyboard function. It just happens randomly. I suspect that PSE has more than one focus window and it loses track of which one is the correct one.

The bug reported here is making classifying images at a decent rate of productivity impossible, I like to use the scroll wheel the toggle back and forth between images to choose the better one, check tags, all sorts of actions. You can't see the next tags at less than the single image view as they only show for the selected image, which doesn't change. Having to click the arrows at the top of the window is absurd.

agreed list001...funny things is, here's the "improvements" the upgrade supposedly addresses...
•User interface improvements
•Stability-related fixes
Maybe Adobe should release an "upgrade" that reverts to 13.0 to :

•Stability-related fixes

I don't know if the following will help troubleshooting the problem, but here is what happens when you are in single image display and move the thumbnail size slider just a tiny amount left. The image is not noticeably reduced, but you can scroll continuously (not image by image) up or down. The information about the image (caption, rating...) is lost.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Trouble scrolling down with mousewheel when zoomed fully zoomed in PSE13 Organize....

When I'm in the PSE13 organizer with an image fully zoomed in, scrolling down on the mouse does not move me to the next image. Scrolling up to the previous image works just fine, but not scrolling down to next.

When I am zoomed out, scrolling images up and down works so it's not an issue with my mouse or driver.

Is there is bug report page for PSE 13? Not having the scroll wheel in the file open window on import (Windows version) is deeply annoying too, as is the lack of task bar popping (ie auto-hide is not supported by PSE Organiser), the failure of full screen view to zoom centred on the cursor and that black floating control thing in full screen view is always coming up in different places. It would be nice for 'People' to behave in the same way as other tags, and the import of events from 11 to 13 missed all the dates, even though PSE 'knows' the dates (right click event>edit>ok fixes it, no need to enter a date, it is already there). Just a few to get started with.

I am sure you already noticed that you are already in the feedback forum; you got feedback fom Adobe in return from user feedbacks by stating this report as 'acknowledged'.
The way this feedback forum works is that each request must be in its own discussion to be easily found by both other users and Adobe team; it's especially useful so that users can add their vote to topics and help in prioritizing those requests.
For your 4 other (valid) requests, you should really:
- search if they have already requested, add your vote if found
- or start a new topic for each one with a meaningful title starting with 'Elements 13:'

Is there any means to get back to 13.0? This link stops at 10.

and the Elements link on Adobe downloads is currently broken (it gives a 413 error).

You have to uninstall ps13.1 and reinstall 13.0 which I did using my original disks.
I had asked the same question and got the answer below:

Jeffrey Tranberry (Chief Customer Advocate) 19 days ago
Yes. You need to uninstall, and reinstall to get back to a base state.

Mr. Tranberry, why is Adobe still pushing the 13.1 update every time I open my 13.0 program that does not have the scrolling problem? Have you taken any action other than to ask the PS Elements team to look into this serious problem?

It turns out that both Organizer v13.0 and v13.1 have the same version in the properties window (Windows version), and are both set at 13.0.0.0. Confused? There are different dates though, 13.0 is August 2014 while 13.1 is Jan 2015. That makes working round this defect an obvious fix (not).
Is there any point in raising other bug reports with Adobe if there is zero chance of them being fixed?

I do not consider this bug to be minor. It is really time consuming when one is trying to work through a large number of photographs in individual folders. Maybe you have a long life ahead of you.

If Adobe would just have one giant update which included the basic program plus the updates this could go away. Instead of having their customers jump through all kinds of hoops, just put it in one fell swoop and be done. A lot of satisfied and return customers would be the benefit. I am referring to the version of the .exe as reported to the operating system. It is conventional to make sure that programs comply with standard rules on issue, such as making sure the version number is correctly defined in the properties of the file. It makes working out which version you have just downloaded very difficult, hence I posted here the fact that Adobe describe both versions as 13.0.0.0. So far as I can work out, the version you get on download is still 13.0. I can confirm that the version installed is 13.0.0.0 as notified to the operating system, but it turns out that both 13.1 and 13.0 claim to be the same. This is very careless of Adobe. I am running a 64bit Windows OS if that is relevant.

Concerning the raising of bugs, I did note a serious bug related to an unpublished loss of functionality between 6 and 7. Adobe acknowledged the bug and did nothing about it. Still broken so far as I am aware. Hence my reluctance to bother. If Adobe were to go a small step further and agree that they ARE going to fix it and not just ignore it, that would be better than where we are right now. If they could also indicate WHEN they are going to fix it, that would be a good step forwards too.

This bug (the loss of scroll) is for me neither trivial nor obscure. Proper testing should have spotted it. It also makes PSE even less compliant as a proper Windows program, it is not the sort of quality a company like Adobe would like to project to me as I understand their marketing and how they want me to perceive them..

Still no help from Adobe. Don't expect me to buy the next edition if you can't make the old one work. I advise you to delay PSE 14 until you are able to make a working 13
