Every time any window such as Gaussian blur or preferences or any other is open the entire screen starts to strobe. Also sometimes the preview box is blank.

I forgot to add that this is a newly installed CS6 on a Windows 7 machine. Other key words "flicker"

You most likely have a video driver problem.

Which GPU are you using?

Which driver version? And have you updated the driver from the GPU maker's web site (not Microsoft) ?

12.8 should be good -- but we've seen problems where bits of old drivers could remain around and cause problems if you don't install it carefully (cleaning out the old drivers first).

Other people aren't seeing or reporting this problem - so it is most likely something about your system or driver installation.

First, make sure you installed the Photoshop 13.0.1 update.
Then you probably need to contact AMD and explain the problem so they can help you with the driver.

It gets stranger and stranger.
Now after you click on the main list at the top of the screen.
Image and Filter the box that opens below it is completely blank. eg. no choices to select.
Something is sure wrong with this program.
I have run Elements 5, 7, 9 with no problems

Your choices are: bad install of Photoshop, conflict with another app/utility, or video driver problems. By far the most likely possibility is the video card driver.
