LIGHTROOM Screen Goes Black In Develop Mode When Advancing From One Image to Next

Just in the last few months, when I'm in develop mode and advance from one image to the next, the screen goes black for 2 - 10 seconds. I haven't made any changes to my system during this period, and my catalog hasn't become significantly larger, so it seems to be a change in LR itself.

You might try disabling GPU drawing in Lightroom, and see if that helps. There are a number of GPU bugs in MacOS 10.10 that remain unfixed.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. But won't that slow down graphics in Lightroom more generally (e.g., drawing with an adjustment brush)?

Uncheck the option Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor.

Unless you have a 4K or 5K display, most people report that turning it off has little impact on the performance of Develop.
