Unable to scan in Photoshop CS6 and Acrobat X Pro on a MAC running Mountain Lion

I just installed my Master Suite CS6 in my MacBookPro running Mountain Lion and I am having problems using Acrobat. When I try to create a file from scanner, it allows me to preview the scan, then when I tell it to do the actual scan, it goes through the scanning process, but never closes the scan window. It does not allow me to do anything else. When I click on Cancel it does nothing, and if I try to quit Acrobat I get an error message "This operation is not allowed, since scanning is in progress". Does anyone have any idea as to what is going on? I have the latest update for Acrobat 10.1.4. Once Acrobat is opened, the only way to close it is to Force Quit.

I am also not able to scan from Photoshop. When I go to import images from device, I hear the scanner being initialized and then I get a blank screen that does not let me do anything.

This is a known MacOS bug in 10.8, Apple is working on it.

After they identified the bug in their software and told us how to work around it?

Somehow Apple support never seems to have all the information.

Thanks for making the situation a little clearer Chris - how long is it going to take to work around it as I desperately need to scan?
