scale brush texture with document resolution

this is half a problem half an idea.

say you're creating a brush you have a texture applied to it, say its a noise texture. you set the scaling factor to 100%, test it on the current document and it works well.

BUT if you then change the resolution of the document the scale of the brush will be out of whack and the brush won't behave/look the way you created it. because now if the resolution has increased for example, the noise texture will be much finer than previously, and viceversa if the document is smaller.

it would be better if the texture would scale up or down accordingly with the canvas resolution in order to have a consistent result.

not sure if there's any way to achieve this at the moment?

I like to create my own brushes too and almost always use a bunch of layers for anything. I mention layers because if one wanted the resolution, from a brushed spot, to keep synchronized with the rest of that specific doc one would (maybe) have to give up on a new layer for in that one spot. That is if I understand your dilemma.

It sounds like you would like to have the brush and the doc linked somehow, is that correct? I'll be looking for an answer. Good Luck!

well the issue is having the brush look the same in different sized documents.
so if I work on a 2000px wide document, the texture applied to the brush would have the same size as if I was working on a 6000px doc

if I make the brush to work well on 6000px, when I'm using it on a smaller document the texture is so big the brush barely shows the stroke at all
