Photoshop: Ability to save which layers are shown and which are hidden

For quite a long time I have not been using Photoshop anymore, so this might have changed, but on the last version I remember kind of vividly (CS6), as far as I know, there was no feature to save the state of hidden and shown layers and name it.

E.g. if you have a few working layers and some "guide" layers, the saved state "all guide layers visible, no working layers visible" could be reachable with one click, and, with another click, you could revert this to "all working layers visible, no guid layers visible", this would be very helpful an d save a lot of clicks in everyday-work.

You are describing exactly what Layer Comps can do! It takes a little bit of time to get used to them and maintain them when you are adding new layers, but it is pretty close to what you describe:
