Save for Web in Photoshop and Illustrator needs image size fidelity when copying and pasting from InDesign

We have a 20+ year business that had for many years only a Directory Print Book with several hundred advertisers. This year we have added an equivalent Website product, so now we have a workflow between Print and Web that requires the ads to be the same exact size on both mediums, it is what our clients pay advertising space for.

Problem: When we copy an ad from Adobe InDesign where we do our work for the Print product, and then paste that into Photoshop for Save for Web for our equivalent Website Product, the Save for Web plugin's compression technology reduces the final output size dimensions of the advertisement.

Solution: I figured out through trial and error that in order to keep the image size the same size via Save for Web, in this copy and paste workflow between InDesign and Photoshop, I've been doing the following steps and it works just fine, I even meticulously measured both with a ruler for consistency.

Copy from InDesign >

Go to Photoshop >

Create File > New... >

Change resolution to 600ppi and Color Mode to RGB >

Go to Save for Web... > and in the Percent field which by default at that point is 100%, I will then change to 115% (the value I figured out by trial and error), then get the new dimensions in width and height fields to the left of that >

Carry those new dimesions to Image > Image Size... > click OK >
Then go to Save for Web again and output at that point. This will give a optimized image for web that is the same size as the image for print copied to the clipboard from InDesign.

Now, this isn't all that intuitive, and isn't a feature of Save for Web plugin. It creates too many steps that could be reduced to fewer.

I could have entered 300px for the resolution after File > New... in Photoshop but for whatever reason entered 600. However, the clibboard is holding an image with assets of 300ppi for print carried over from InDesign, and actually some assets that are 'effectively' (according to the links panel) larger than 300ppi resolution.

So the question now is how do you get all those steps reduced to as few as possible so that a business like ours can have advertisement size fidelity between our Print and Web products?

I'm giving you the solution, now can Adobe's Engineers please come to a solution that is clear and obvious to any future user and bring that to a CC update soon? I believe it is possible.
