save font settings as preset

i would like to be able to save the user settings of a font in the character pallet as a font subset variant. this would appear in the same place as normal, italic, bold or as a submenu item beside bold. the user could save it in the context menu of the character pallet near "reset character".

all the settings of the character kerning, stretching etc should be saved with this.

there does seem to be a tool preset option when the text tool is selected that looks like it should do the job, however once a block of text is selected this tool preset does not seem to be available!

Howdy Russ,

Most of what you're referring to is part of the Type Style feature in Photoshop. You can carefully craft a look and then save that to use elsewhere. And, if you change the style, those changes auto-magically propagate to other instances of the style.
