Lightroom CC: Save jpeg in black and white

Hello - I save edited versions from lightroom cc on the desktop. I have the impression that all edits are kept except conversion into black and white (that is rendering a black and white by activating the "B&W" icon under "color". Any advise much appreciated as for now it seems like there is no way share/print b&w conversions. Thanks!

I can't reproduce this so far. When you're saving it, are you selecting JPEG or Original + Settings. You'd need JPEG, as Original is just a copy of the original.

If that's not it, we'll need a bit more info. Which file format is the original photo, and exactly what steps are you taking?

Hi Victoria, thank you for your feedback.

Slightly odd: I took photos with a Sony alpha 2 in RAW format. I loaded them into lightroom CC (on a 2018 macbook). Among other edits I converted a few in BW and then saved them as jpeg on the desktop. I felt like edits on exp. etc. stayed, but the BW did not.

Given your feedback, I tried to replicate myself, with another photo in lightroom. Strangely, the problem did not re-emerge; i.e. the saved jpeg was in BW.

So I went back to one of my previously to BW edited photos: saved as jpeg on desktop, again color. Back to lightroom disabled BW for the same photo, and enabled it again. Saved to desktop and now working as well.

I have no idea. Only thing I can tell is that between my first BW edits, and the session today OS Sierra had been updated.

Anyway, it is working now by the looks of it.

Many thanks again - Lars
