Save for web - lags / ridiculously slow

'Save for web' is so slow - the lag can be up to minutes just to save one file - no matter the size - it's something as a graphic/ web designer I use consistently in my workflow and for 10 years it's worked perfectly in all other CS versions - and now I have this ongoing problem with it in CC - it's halving my productivity, destroying my mojo and right now I am hating on Adobe.

Please enlighten me on what can be done to fix this???

FYI I'm on pc:- Sony, Core i7-4500u, 64bt processor, 8gig RAM, and have experienced the ongoing problem on Windows 8 & Windows 10.

Save For Web hasn't really changed.

Do make sure you have installed all the Photoshop updates.

But you need to start looking at external factors: disk problems, utility programs that might slow it down (like antivirus), lack of RAM, etc.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for getting back, I really appreciate it.

I don't run anti virus at all, this pc has more RAM and improved processing capabilities then my last pc which happily ran CS5 without a hitch.

How would I isolate the problem - do you have any advice on what I could try to narrow it down? Is there a way I can revert back to CS6? or 5? to see if that works?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are running Windows, then you must have some antivirus installed - otherwise you are guaranteed to have viruses installed within a few minutes of connecting your computer to a network.

You can reinstall Photoshop CS6 from the Creative Cloud application (show old versions) and test that.

Otherwise it's a process of elimination, and examining your system for what might cause a slowdown.
