PHOTOSHOP: Save As dialogue having an option to save CMYK from RGB layers

I'd really like to have a check box on the save as dialogue that would handle converting colour spaces at that time, so for instance when I save out a flattened tiff from my Photoshop layers it automatically saves a CMYK tiff from my RGB layers :)
Pretty please :)

No, a destructive change like that should not be part of the save dialog.

You can lose adjustment layers, as well as the appearance of your document when converting color modes, so you need to make a decision to make the conversion and approve of the conversion before saving. It could possibly be part of something like SaveForWeb (where you get a preview and a chance to approve the result).

Hi Chris, my thinking here is for when you save as only, often in preparation for print jobs I'm saving as tiffs with no layers, the opening them up and converting, I've created various droplets to speed this up, but it'd be far quicker to specify this at the save as dialogue, even if it was a case of allowing an action to run?

All these 3-5 minutes add up over a week, that's valuable beer time to me!

It could have the various warnings that this is destructive etc!

I'd only want this on a save as prompt, not on the standard save dialogue!

The save dialog isn't the right location to put those warnings, and you would have no way to verify the appearance after the conversion and before saving.
You can create an action to do what you describe, and take your chances.
But this option really does not belong in the save dialog (or save as).
