NEED HELP WITH AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SHUTS DOWN MY PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 11--I want to print a photo that I have saved. I import the photo from files & folders/find the photo on file and open it/the media item is imported/I click on editor and it says it is loading the Editor workspace then a get a "Runtime error" with a big red x. and it says the app is requesting Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way/when I look for info on the problem it states APPCRASH with some fault module info and exception info, then it terminates my Photoshop. I am totally lost when it comes to computers and programs (am almost 70!!) and I dont know what to do at this point. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Cheryl,

I really need to know which Operating System (which Windows) you have:  Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 10?   Photoshop elements 11 is an older program and Adobe does not support it and that's we try to do our best in this forum.  You might consider buying one of the newer Photoshop Elements, 14, 15 or 16 to make correcting this program easier.

Here's why:
This is a common problem when a program has lost a few files and doesn't have the files to run it,  it's run-time errors show because the program has finally crashed.  If you have the original program disc you can remove this program and then reboot your computer, then use that disc to reinstall the same program.  That should replace lost files and run it.   You need your original disc for the key to type into the program after the install.   The key is on the disc envelope.  If you don't have the disc, Adobe has may have your serial number online but only if you registered the product when it was first installed.  If you don't remember registering the product, it's worth the time to check with adobe online. you need to sign in here.

I cannot do this for you, so if you are stumped to what to do next and cannot remove and reinstall this program, my best suggestion is the same as above - get a new program.  Installing a new one may be easier.   Then you can remove the old elements 11.
