When I installed the latest Photoshop update I (Version 2017.1.) I encountered big difficulties. When working the program quickly ate up all the Virtual memory and was unable to function.

I have 32gb of RAM and 50gb free space on my SSD. I have not had any problems like this before I installed the update. I could see the space on my SSD going down from 50GB to 175mb quickly. When I turn PS of the space returns again. Photoshop has 70% of the ram allocated to it.

I have now rolled back to previous version and the problem seems to have gone away. I am not overly keen on installing this update again. Rather wait for the next one

Is this a known problem and will it be fixed on the next update?

Hi David,

This is a known issue and we're working on getting a fix out to customers asap.  For now the best solution is to roll back to 18.0.1.  You can do that from the Creative Cloud app, by showing older versions of Photoshop.  You may need to uninstall the latest version first.

We'll post here again when the fix is available.
