Ruler doesn't measure color in info panel.

Hello, I work with Photoshop full time, and I was wondering why the ruler seems to be one of the only tools that does not measure color range in the info panel? It seems very counter-intuitive, considering that I work in an area where both size and color accuracy need to be checked on every image. I'm sure that I'm not a minority in the need for this feature, and it seems needless to have to change to another tool just to measure the RGB on a color chip. If there's a reason I would be interested to know. Thanks for your time!

I am not following what you want. Can you explain your workflow a little more.

List it as steps. That always helps.

I work in marketing on an imaging team designing catalogs, and one of our job functions is isolating product from the background it was shot on. All the product needs to be true to size and color accurate, so as a routine we will use the ruler tool to check the size and straighten the image, then check the color chips for color accuracy. The problem is the need to switch to another tool to check the color. It's not a big issue obviously, just a tad annoying. I was just curious why every other tool (or close to every tool) can measure the color in the info panel when you hover over the image, but the ruler does not measure the color. Is there a reason for that? If not, it would be nice for that to be patched in the near future. Thanks for following up!

Got it. Thanks. That is a good point I cannot see a reason why this should not work the way you want. I will log it as an issue with the team.

If for whatever reason this isn't added in can I be told why? I just need to satisfy my curiosity at the very least; I've been wondering about this topic for awhile before posting on here.
