Photoshop: Cannot update to 12.0.4

I tried to update 12.0 to 12.0.4 by going to Help > Updates. It downloaded everything and said it was successful but it wasn't. The problem I'm dealing with is the right click issue and the layer not being highlighted.

Any help with this would be much appreciate. No I don't want to update to 12.5 since I don't need any of those updates at this time. I just want 12 to work the way it's supposed.

Thanks,

Um, so you have 2 problems: the right click, and the updater failing?

What version number does it show in the application splash screen?

What OS are you on (and version)?

it shows 12.0
osx 10.6.8

The reason I was updating is because of that problem. Trying to get rid of the issue, and from researching, it looks like that issue is resolved with the update.

When you go to Help>Updates... do you get any sort of error or message?

Strange. I recommend using the pop-ups found on the Contact Page for issues related to installation and activation. You will be given the option of Live Chat (if available) or a phone support (including call-backs) through this contact method.

$39 for a support request? For a product that isn't working? Really?

Hmm. They shouldn't charge for installation/update support.

The only thing that fixed this finally was I uninstalled PS with app cleaner. Then reinstalled PS and then did the update through HELP > Update in PS

OK. Are you all up to date now and the right-click layer selection works correctly for you?

Sounds like something got hosed with the installation. Out of curiosity, have you used Time Machine or Migration Assistant to restore or move user account info?

Yep... all working now. Nope it was a fresh install on a new machine. No migration or Time Machine.

Thanks,

Tim
