Photoshop: Right-click to select nested folder

While it's possible to select individual layers from within a folder with right-clicking & selecting from the contextual list, it's not possible to select a folder this way if it's parent folder is closed on the layer list. Being able to select a nested folder directly without having to open the parent folder first would simply speed things up.

It already works for 1) folders visible on the layer list and 2) for individual layers even if they are within a closed folder, so this just seems like an omission, especially since you can still see those folders (on the contextual list) you can't select.

Hi krushing, just so I'm sure I'm understanding you, you don't like that the parent group/folder (if collapsed) doesn't expand to show the selected group/folder when you select a nested group/folder by right-clicking on the canvas using the Move tool. Is that correct?

Yes, exactly. Admittedly I was under the impression that it doesn't even select the nested folder, but it does. It's just feels like inconsistent behaviour compared to selecting a single nested layer (which expands the parent folders)- and you don't get visual feedback that something's actually selected.
