I had been a premier cusomer of photoshop.com and recently was allowed to upgrade to Photoshop 11 and have my photos moved to Revel. I read a lot of the negative feedback and am trying to be positive, but am having similar issues with uploading pictures to Revel. I opted to have my pictures moved by Adobe to Revel. An email came back immediately saying they were moved. However a very limited number of the total pictures were actually moved and they are all unsorted. Without albums to manage them, having that many pictures jumbled together is really worthless. So I attempted to move them myself. First through Photoshop 11, however only a couple pictures would be successful each attempt, with others skipped or incorrectly thought to be duplicates. Attempting to re-upload them the same way did allow a few extra pictures a time, until about the fourth time at which point they were all skipped/unsuccessful. Thinking it may be my upgrade to Photoshop that was flawed I then tried to upload directly through an internet connection. Unfortunately I was met with the same result. Again I want to be optimistic about the new product, but even for others who have shared a similar problem, I don't see any real answer being given. Should we wait until enhancements are made? Is there any work arounds? Do you know what the cause of this issue is? It seems to be a common issue.

Hello Joe,
Thanks for thinking positive about Adobe Revel. All of your images of course should of been migrated to your Revel account. How many pictures do you think that have not uploaded to Revel?
Did you try to upload all of your images thru Photoshop Elements 11 organizer? Have you tried to log in thru Adoberevel.com and test with uploading the images that way?
Revel filters out duplicates based on file byte comparisons (aka. hashing or checksumming). Revel will not filter images that are edited copies of originals.

Thanks
Scott

Joe, thanks for trying Revel and for maintaining a positive attitude. I will certainly get you some help with this. Can you clarify the message you received? Was it a migration complete message?

When your images are migrated from Photoshop.com to Revel they are put into a Library titled Photoshop.com. In Revel, the galleries from Photoshop.com become albums. Jpg photos from group albums will also be moved to Revel individually.

Also, check out our FAQ forum post FAQ: How do I sync, share, and back up files to Revel from Elements 11?

It shows you how to interface with Revel from Photoshop Elements 11. When you upload from Photoshop Elememts 11 you are able to select the library that you want, but it will upload images to the library not to specific albums names.

For additional helpful information regarding Revel , please see our main FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/community/ps....

To answer Scott's questions: I had about 1,333 pictures on Photoshop.com and after your migration to Revel there are about 396 pictures in the Photoshop library. So about 937 pictures have not been uploaded. I did try to upload images through Photoshop Elements 11 organizer and then also through Adoberevel.com. Both resulted in the same error messages. For instance most recently I attempted to upload 29 files, the same 29 files I have tried a few times before. I had 18 files that successfully uploaded to my carosel from previous attempts. This time I received an error message stating 13 files were unable to be uploaded and were skipped 12 files were duplicates and were skipped. One additional photo uploaded after refreshing the library. Thus I now have 19 of the 29 pictures I have been attempting to upload. There are no duplicate files, non-jpg, or edited copies in the population I'm trying to upload.
To answer Pattie's questions: The message I typically get is as mentioned above x files were unable to be uploaded and were skipped x files were duplicates and were skipped. When you say if I received a migration complete message, I don't believe I've seen one from an upload I have done. If you are talking about your migration of the photos to revel, we did receive an e-mail stating "Your photos have a new home". However as mentioned above a significant amount of photos are not in the photoshop library. Also in Revel there were no albums made from galleries that existed in photoshop.com. I have also checked out the FAQ, and would love for it to function as say it should.

As for Migration, if you selected the migration option, you should get a migration complete message. Visit our migration page to find out the status of your move. It should say move complete. Check your email, too, including your spam or junk folder. You will see "Move Complete" when you login to your account.

I will forward this to the file guys to research, but please let me know the status of your migration when you login to the migration page.

My status is migration complete, but as mentioned above the migration only moved 396 jpg files of 1,333 jpg files and failed to establish any of the about 18 galleries as albums.

Hi Joe,

Just wanted to confirm the total count of your pictures on Photoshop.com. Did you see the 1,333 images mentioned by you in this account by going to Online Tools->Photoshop Express Organizer?

Thanks,
Smriti

correct this number is the sum of all the pics in online galleries from elements organizer. I wasn't opposed to reuploading all the photos and re-establishing all the albums but couldn't get the upload feature to work in elements organizer or adobe revel. com either

Hi Joe,
What browser are you using? Some older browsers have an issue where the adoberevel.com upload button fails. If you are on Safari 5 or Firefox 3.x, for example, it will fail. If you do want to use the upload feature on the web, you could try using latest Firefox or latest Chrome or Internet Explorer 8 or later.
Thanks,
Richard

Hello,
I have more than 7,000 photos and use photoshop.com to sync my photos to my 3 computers. I recently bought a new computer and have 11 (which I can't sync with my others so uploaded photos a couple of months ago); 2 of my computers have 10; and the oldest has 9. The 3 older PCs work well with photoshop.com. I have them my photos in folders beginning with 1821 and ending with 2013. I also have about 30 albums with tags. I'm thinking I will truly have a mess if I rely on Revel. I don't like what I'm hearing. Can you reassure me that I will be able to work with my folders and albums and tags as usual. If not, this is certainly a loser for me! I hope I'm just not understanding something because I don't want to spend more time redoing what has already taken hours and hours. Thank you for a promt reply.

Pattie, I e-mailed screen shots to you. Thank you for attempting to help me. Also to answer Richard's question or advise on the browser. I am using Internet Explorer 9, so I should be up to date in that regard.
Please let me know if you find anything out or are successful in getting the rest of the photos migrated.
Thanks,

Pattie,
I will send a screen shot this evening, but the only thing left on photoshop. com is the pictures that made the migration. The majority of pictures and all the albums are no longer there. Also just to keep you up to date over the weekend I uninstalled elements 11 as well as the previous 10 version. I then reinstalled elements 11. I still had the same problem with upload as stated in the initial message above. I then upgraded to Internet explorer 10 and tried chrome browser all with no change. I was able to upload to revel effectively over an iPad app. so I may be able to migrate my albums over to revel myself over the next few weeks. it would be nice for elements to work with revel though, so please let me know with any ideas.

I was able to restore all my pictures and albums from photoshop.com to revel by loading everything onto an iPad and using the upload feature on the revel app. However I would still like to be able to use the premier 11 upload so if you can offer any advice on the skipped and duplicate file errors I would appreciate it.

The skipped files are likely files that were not .jpg files, as Revel currently only supports the jpg format. It is possible you had duplicate files in different folders? If the photos are identical, it will only load the photo once.

Currently, you can upload from Lightroom and Photoshop Elements 11, drag and drop from Iphoto, and upload from the Mac and iOS apps, browser, and android.

I am not aware of any connectivity with Premiere Elements at this time.

It appears your files have migrated successfully now. Please verify that everything looks ok.

For status please read the existing chain of communication. Nothing was solved. I did successfully come up with a work around. As the revel upload feature in photoshop does not function I loaded all of my photos onto an iPad and moved all the photos and albums to revel myself. I also deleted your library as your attempt was not complete leaving most photos and all albums unmigrated. Photoshops upload feature continues to be defective despite numerous upgrades and reinstallations.

p.s. As mentioned numerous times before the pictures still are all jpg files.

Would you like us to pursue re-migration or since you have found a workaround, would you like to us leave it alone?

Please don't take away photoshop.com. That's the only way I can sync my thousands of photos. Even if revel worked, I couldn't manage without my albums. I'm terribly concerned and disappointed with Adobe! ClaireK

The decision was made to discontinue Photoshop.com. I can not change that, but I can give as much feedback to the team as possible regarding what they want Revel to do moving forward. I understand your disappointment with this decision and your frustration in moving to a new program, especially if it doesn't have all the features you are used to. There are albums in Revel and the ability to store thousands of photos and share them. I hope you are able to use the new product and that we can add the features you desire moving forward.

We are in the process if migrating users from Photoshop.com to Revel before it closes. If you want to see answers to some of the FAQ's, you can look here:

Can I create an album and then move all the photos in my current album to the new revel album? I that can't happen, then I'm absolutely lost! ClaireK
