I'm using Elements 10, therefor I need to upload to Revel from my hard drive. My question: if have an album New York" and another Album "New York five star where I have moved the better "5 star" pictures to, its my understanding that I can not upload just the files in Album "New York five stars as that file does not exist on my hard drive. If I export (right click) the album "New york five star
to the hard drive, then I can upload just that album I copied to the hard drive?

Bruce-

I am not completely sure I follow you. You can certainly make an album in Revel with all of your New York photos and upload the trip photos there. If you also want to have an album in Revel with "New York five star" and add the best ones to the new album (not upload again, just add to the second album) that is one option. You can only upload photos once to the library. It will complain about duplicates, but you can take any photos in the album and add them to other additional albums. upload a subset of your New York photos to it. If you do not want all of your trip photos in Revel, but just want to create your album, "New York five star" and upload a subset of the trip photos to it, that is another option. Does that make sense? I am not quite sure why you mention exporting. Once photos are in Revel, yes, you can also export them back to your hard drive if you ever lose your backup (one at at time currently).

I'll try again. On my hard drive I have a folder "photos) and many subfolders one of which is photos "New York" . I imported all photos from that sub folder into an album in elements 10 called New York. I then rated the pictures in "New York" and all the ***** pictures I put into another Album "New York *****". So I have two Albums in Elements (New York and New York *****). It's my understanding that both albums (New York and New York *****) are in the same sub folder on my hard drive . So my question is... can I transfer to Adobe only the NY ***** photos?

Because you are using Elements 10, you will not be able to directly communicate with Revel from Elements to copy the files from the Elements subfolder "New York *****". Elements 11 is the first version that can directly communicate with Revel.

You can upload the files to revel as long as you know where the files are on your hard disk. You get into revel and select where to upload from on your hard disk or perform a drag and drop operation from Mac or Windows.

You can see this faq to learn the different options you have to upload files to Revel
