I recently had to do a restore from a backup as I have had to change computers. Before i wiped my PC I made my Backup on an external drive and also copied all my files and folders from my PC to make sure I had all my photos. So I have them on my external drive as a Backup (Say A) and in its original folders (say B).
I then used another PC with elements 12 to restore from my Backup under folder C.. problem is when the new catalog was created the files were not connected to my pictures (C). I then had to do a reconnect, not they have connected to my other copies mainly in (B). How to I get them to connect to my (C) only as that is the restored catalog I wish to use?

Some clarification is needed.
I assume you have made a backup from the Organizer 12 to a given folder in your external drive.

You also have a simple copy of your media files folders to the same external drive.
From the second computer, you made a 'restore' from the newly installed Elements 12 Organizer. You had the choice to restore on original or on 'custom' location'. In both cases, you should have recovered both your catalog and your pictures files tree without needing any reconnection. Your additional copy of your folder tree is never used in that process, and you don't have to import anything.
Could you confirm your OS version on both computers?
