Reorder or Rename Profiles

I have several Profiles. I want to reorder them so I have the ones I use the most on top. Lightroom doesn't let you do that since it reorders them alphabetically. Fine. Then I want to be able to rename the Profiles so I can add numbers and they will be reordered. There's no way to do that! That's a problem.

Lightroom CC is a work in progress, so you can expect this to be possible one day.

For the time being , download Adobe Bridge for free on your computer. After you completed your adjustments (RAW), select “save as” and export the photos via the “original files with settings” option to your hard drive. With Bridge you can rename them. For each photo, there is an XMP file. It comtains the RAW adjustmensts and it will be renamed as well connected to its Photo file. The next step is, delete the photos from Lr and import the renamed photos. You will see the photos are renamed in Lr and the non destructed changes are still in place. I have not tried it with JPEG; this may work as well.

More comprehensive management of Profiles was included in the 1.4 release of Lightroom CC that went live earlier today. Check it out and see if it gives you some relief.
