Installing new LR 7.3 adds me too manny problems :/
After renaming all of my presets and sorting it back to right order and saving my B&W presets, that accidentaly jumped to color have i found an another problem...

Question:
It is possible to rename folders with presets? (i have more, than just "user pressets")
It was really easy before (i remember LR6), but LR 7.3 cannot directly rename folders and ignores my renaming or sorting in Windows :/

And is here a way to hide or delete all of added LR folders with presets? (folders like: Color, Creative, B&W, Curve, Grain, Classic,... ). There are just too manny folders that i will never use.

I will work with Lightroom and not solving problems like this, or seeing inside of my relative clean workspace more and more "cool effects", that i cannot hide or sort....

Agreed. Far too much space given to Lightroom suggestions and not enough consderation for the artist's own setup. Perhaps there could be two main preset folders, Lightroom and Local, with all the Lightroom sections inside the Lightroom base folder. Then we should be allowed to make folders in our own Local folder so we can make our own categories as we choose. If we buy or get a package of presets from somebody, they could be put in a new base preset folder. It seems pretty logical to me.

Most of the folders with presets is possible to hide with help of standard PS Camera Raw - why not directly in LR?
It helped me to rename some of my folders, but I still can not hide "classic" folders, which sees only Lightroom ...

Preset management tools are missing from Lightroom at the moment, but they're already in Camera Raw, so hopefully they'll be added in due course. In the meantime, renaming/deleting in Camera Raw does carry over to Lightroom too.

Another problem happens after renaming and sorting (thanks CameraRaw help) all of my presets and folders...
Nothing is changed in Windows - presets and folders have the same name as before renaming (in old presets folder and in CameraRaw settings folder and in presets folder in Lightroom Program Files folder - why on 3 places????).
How cann i backup my new presets and synchronize it with my notebook with the same presets mess?
Or i need to make it again on my laptop?

When its not solved in next Lightroom, i switch back to 6.14....

The sort order problem seems to be simply that the external preset name is not the same as the internal preset name. Presets that I have renamed at some time in the past haven't changed the internal preset name, and presumably LR is now sorting them on the internal name rather than the external name. I just renamed the internal name to match the external name and all is well!! I don't have many preset that I have renamed.

After restarting - presets are renamed like in Lightroom (CameraRaw), but folders not.
Some moved or renamed folders are duplicite in windows (old named folder with some old, but renamed presets + new folder with new name and new preset).

I have renamed and moved all external (Win) names of folders and presets to match the Lightroom (CameraRaw) names and all works fine for now.

It was ca 100 presets in my laptop, hopefully it will works now and next version will be better... now i do the same on my PC.

I have (finally) removed all of the preinstaled presets and preset folders.

Classic presets location is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\Resources\Settings\Classic

New preinstaled presets are located here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\Resources\Settings\Adobe\Presets

I created a backup of all files and just removed folders with presets. Lightroom is now clean and only with that, what i need.

Applications > Adobe Lightroom Classic CC > (right click) > Show Package Contents > Resources > Settings

Folders "Classic" and "Adobe" both seem to have things in them.  If you delete these folders, you can open Lightroom Classic CC again and half the presets have disappeared.

The other half belong to Adobe Camera RAW and were merged into Lightroom in this update.

Those can be found and deleted at (Your Hard Drive) > Library > Application Support > Adobe > CameraRaw > Settings > Adobe > Presets

The free Fix Presets plugin lets you quickly hide and unhide the built-in presets with a single click.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled New Presets ALL end up in User Presets, NOT Preset Folders HORRIBLY non-usable.

You can no longer add a folder of Presets. ALL new presets end up in ONE folder: User Presets. I could insert names Presets Folder into the Develop Presets in User folder on Mac. Start up LR and you'd see the new presets in their named folder.

Now it won't show up. When you add the preset, ALL into User Presets Folder. Are you kidding me?

WHO designed this? Not gonna work. Worth rolling back JUST to get new Presets correctly installed. Anyone beta test this? I am NOT the only one reporting this. MAJOR Preset designer sent out an email with video covering this update. SHE mentioned it first. I experienced it too. So not cool.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom Classic 7.3 Menu command Develop/New Preset Folder no longer works.

In Lr Classic 7.3 the menu command in the Develop Module  "Develop/New Preset Folder" no longer works.   It appears to work but nothing happens.  There is a right click command in the preset panel to create new Groups.   This old menu command should be updated to create Groups like the right click command in the preset panel.

Thanks for the report. The New Preset Folder is no longer applicable in the new version of Lightroom, because the preset group is now specified as part of the preset file definition. The physical preset folder concept has been phased out. This command will be removed in the new version update.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom Classic 7.3.1: Still cannot rename (manage) preset folders.

Hi,

In LR version 7.3.1, I'm still unable to manage (at least rename) my preset folders.

Also, after installation, I noticed a lot of duplicated (or triplicated) presets, some being moved and renamed by prefixing them with the name of the folder they were stored in. The mess continues.

I cannot create a new folder (group ?) without creating a new preset. So far for the preset management capabilities. The Presets panel is missing a Create Group... (or Create Folder...) command.

Adobe, to which exotic offshore company are you subcontracting the coding of LR ?

7.3.1 was a hot fix release to fix the biggest bugs, but the rest is still a work in progress. (Between us, I think they bit off more than they could chew. The team are really enthusiastic, and a little overly optimistic at times.)

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom Classic: Menu Develop - New preset folder doesn't work.

I'll work with Lightroom Classic CC (version 7.3.1). When I try to create a new preset folder with the menue point Develop -> New preset folder... (Ctrl+Alt+N) nothing happened.

Is this a bug or did I something wrong?
