You can right-click to rename these.

Thank Johan, I'm well aware of that option, however my request is regarding a shortcut/double click option.

Right click requires you right click, then move the mouse to select the option to rename etc. Double click is faster and a shortcut faster still. I'm a programmer, short cuts make a huge difference over time and it's easy to implement

Geez. Double click increases the risk that you rename the folder by mistake. How many times do you rename a folder anyway?

Double click would not result in a misnamed folder; current functionality does not overwrite the name, why would double click do so?

I rename all my folders, prefixed with the date, then a broad subject.

Thanks for your feedback Johan, you've made it obvious that this is not the correct forum for me to have posted a feature request.

It is, but that doesn't mean I'm not entitled to disagree with that request.

Well, on the slim chance it is implemented, it shouldn't affect your workflow, however, your comment is fair enough.

FWIW, it gets my vote, as I often try a slow double click to rename folders (like in Finder/Explorer) before remembering it doesn't work like that in Lightroom.

I'll convert it to a feature request.
