I have created a a catalog with 72,000 files. I ran the plug-in  duplicates finder and came up with 20,000 duplicates. Would you REMOVE or DELETE ??
thanks as always !

Neither!

If you have that many duplicates you really need to check the quality of the plug-in results first before you risk potentially losing important false positives.

Thanks Colin I noticed the “file base name” wasn’t checked so for instance 5 files with consecutive names were marked just because all shot within a few seconds....

Thanks for your heads up!

By the way - if I see 2 similar files with the same name appears in 2 different folders - if I delete or remove - will I have ONE (third) file in the catalog with the same name ?

If you have two files with the same name (in different folders) in the catalog and you delete one, then you are left with the other one. It's as simple as that.

Thanks Johan my confusion was whether the files showed up as duplicates ARE all duplicates to be removed or I should choose manually which is the one to be deleted.
