Rejecting and deleting stacks LR4.1

Here is something I ran into today, not sure in my mind if it's a bug, but it definitely "didn't do what I would have expected".
I have a large set of images that had collapsed stacks. I went through and selected (in grid view) a starting image, shift-click to select a continuous bunch of them, and hit x to reject them all. I then tried to delete all rejected photos from the catalog (and disk).
LR silently ignored (and unflagged) my stacked images. I had to go in and unstack them all, then flag and delete again.

It can probably be argued either way; LR was "saving me" from a mistake, or a bug that it didn't do what I told it to do.

I would have expected it to delete the images or at least pop up and say "You flagged collapsed stacks, did you mean it? y/n" or at the very least a warning that it was ignoring collapsed stacks. Silent ignore is not something that I've ever thought it should do...
