Refocusing a captured image.

A work in progress thought.

Would it be possible to 'refocus' a captured image by using Ophthalmology?

Design a transformation matrix based upon the forumla(e) used by optometrists when creating glasses/contact lenses.

By changing the profile of the lens, differing the prescription as it were, the image could blur or sharpen.

Does this make sense or am I just barking?

I think you're just barking. Unless the image is captured in 3-dimensional sensor, not stereo, but a cube of elements, rather than a flat sensor, you cannot refocus it, only blur it more. The Lytro cameras may have a 3D sensor or have some way to capture the position of the light-rays in 3D space, because they allow refocusing.
