Photoshop: Refining edge (growing and shrinking selection)

Hello, I currently am having problems with my selections on photoshop CS6.
In older programs, when I used the refine edge, it had the ability to expand and shrink the selection by certain percent, but when I look at the refine edge on CS6, there is no way to do that automatically.
I've tried to set the Edge Detection radius to 0,1 and adjusting the edge with shift edge +100% or -100%. It sometimes works, but most of the time the effect is unreliable, and the selection might shrink no matter what I do with the shift-edge settings. I've thought about setting the Edge Detection radius to 0, but that makes the refine edge tool unable to do anything whatsoever.

Is there really not a grow-by-percent/pixels or shrink-by-percent/pixels featured in CS6? If not, is there a way to put it into the program, or is there a way to downgrade my program from CS6 to CS5 or something?

And by typing 6 words, you've saved my CS6 experience. Thank you very much.

LOL! If only all of life's problems could be solved with 6 words. By the way, CS5 wouldn't have made any difference.
