Refine edge is totally broken in CC 2015 (latest update). When you select an object to extract and you paint around hair once you extract the subject there is weird artifacting on the subject as well as an orange aura around the subject as well as part of the subject being masked out. Its like the algorithm for doing the calculation is pretty screwed up.

Decontaminate colors status makes no difference.
Smart radius settings from 1.5 px through 70 px result in relatively the same unsatisfactory result...a orange tinge to hair especially and foggy separation throughout the areas affected by the refine edge brush. This tool worked amazingly well in CS6, passable in CC2014 and outlandishly insufficient in CC2015.

Mid 2013 MBPro 64 bit Dual 2.8GHz i7s 16GB RAm, OSX10.10.4

After a standard 'Refine Edge' process, the resulting output, especially in separating hair from a background (which was amazing in CS5/6) is red/orange tinged, and sloppily created witht he aforementioned tinging, and remnants of the painting during the refine edge evolution with a semi-transparent artifacting delineating where the Refine Edge brush was drawn. I have dumped my preferences file (Shift-Cmd_Option) right after 2x clicking on the icon to start PS CC2015.

It makes no difference whether I am selecting against a dark or light background, and most notably is the lingering alteration of the refine edge selection which occurs when you are in process, the other areas which had already been selected and 'refined' earlier in the same iteration of the tool change as the iteration continues. The actual selection goes in and out of selected status visibly...

Ive attempted this on many different images, at radiuses from .8px to 45px with eerily similar results. Contrast separation does not seem to alter the deficiency, and this is making it quite difficult to composite with any level of reliability or speed.

Certainly not the high caliber image manipulation software Adobe has produced fairly reliably until this CC adventure began.

Please advise quickest the new instructions and recommended settings (OR, the definition of what the new adjustments on the old sliders will be and the paradigm in which we can begin to learn a new process for precise selections our industry has come to know and need to complete in a very timely fashion to meet the requirements of our customers.

Adobe's immediate attention to this issue is a necessity. Precise and reliable selections have forever been the hallmark for quick image manipulation, and the refine edge tool has been neutered by the 15.01 'upgrade', if it can be called that.

I have already spent an entire day searching for answers to this dilemma, and this thread has been up for 90 days without an Adobe response.
